As part of the Lenten observance activities of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), Catholic Diocese of Katsina, a Rural Outreach visitation was carried out on 13th March, 2026 at St. Joseph Layin Minister Parish, Malumfashi Deanery.
The CYON delegation was warmly received by the Parish Priest "Revd. Fr. Solomon Shidi", who welcomed the youth members and took the opportunity to explain to the parishioners the aims and benefits of the CYON Rural Outreach visitation, emphasizing the importance of charity, unity, and support for the less privileged during the Lenten season.
The outreach team was led by the Diocesan Welfare Director, Miss Kate Michael Tongh, alongside the Miss CYON, Miss Paulina Isaac.
Following their addresses, the CYON representatives presented food items and other relief materials to the less privileged members of the parish community as a gesture of love and solidarity in the spirit of Lent.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Parish Priest, who expressed appreciation to the CYON leadership and members for their kindness and commitment to service. He also offered prayers and blessings for everyone present.
The outreach was a meaningful moment of charity, fellowship, and spiritual reflection, reinforcing the mission of CYON to promote faith in action among Catholic youths.
